Sustainable Development Program

Part of our approach is to model and develop best practice in ecological sustainability. 
Our work in this area includes establishing and facilitating two community gardens in the West End area which are now run mostly by the local community. 

Over the years this program has trained hundreds of people in sustainable gardening approaches and permaculture as well as creating pockets of paradise in the inner city much loved by the local community.

SPIRAL is currently working closely with the Transition Town movement to continue to work with local communities to transition to more sustainable living.

We are also currently in the process of starting the Future Proofing Local Communities Project which will culminate in a manual for local animators to use to run Sustainability Action Learning Circles in their local communities.
